Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Unbroken Chain/Eyes of the World Jam '74

Hmmm,

The "Eyes of the World" extended riff jam that was prominent during 1974 and abruptly ended before the touring resumed in the Summer of 1976 was a great little moment where Garcia, Lesh and Kruetzmann frequently locked-on, though it always appeared to beg to evolve to somewhere else, it always fell back into melody of the song.

Enter 1975, King Solomans Marbles or Stronger Than Dirt Or Milkin The Turkey appeared to be the new direction this extended riff was searching for. This pairing would have made for an excellent extended Eyes jam.

Help On The Way-> Slipknot!, The Music Never Stopped, They Love Each Other, Beat It On Down The Line*-> Franklin's Tower, Big River, It Must Have Been The Roses, Truckin'-> The Eleven Jam-> Drums -> Stronger Than Dirt Or Milkin' The Turkey-> Not Fade Away -> Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad -> One More Saturday Night

I would have linked the fine version from "One From The Vault" August 13th, 1975 but a link was unavailable. Arguably, one of the finest live recording performances.
